I have had the pleasure of working for Ger at The International School of Breda from 2012-2019, where he was the Head of School. He is a driven, child-centred headteacher who develops inspiring relationships with his students. During my time at the International School Ger encouraged me to develop myself as a professional and actively encouraged me to pursue further learning through undertaking my Master’s degree. I do not think that I would have been able to achieve this without his support and encouragement.

Ger continued to demonstrate his drive and determination throughout the time that I worked for him. He was able to create a welcoming and safe school community, growing from a small school of 30 to over 300 students in his last year. Ger welcomes any opportunity for professional development, which makes him an ideal leader. He has a strong spiritual interest and uses this in his leadership role and individual personal development. He likes to encourage the growth of the whole person and not just growth on a purely academic level. He is resolute in his belief that by sharing experiences with each other true collaboration, connection, and collegiality amongst peers takes root and grows.

Ger has a wonderful rapport with people of all ages, especially children. His ability to connect with students and motivate them to learn is inspiring. He is very popular with students who feel able to approach him freely. I enjoyed my time working with Ger and wish him very well for the future.
